In conclusion to this review, we would like to mention that there could be some issues with the software that comes with the Alesis USB Pro Kit so you may be a bit disappointed if you are not too tech-savvy. Throughout our research, we found that this kit is not too easy to set-up if you are used to drum kits that come with their own sound modules. If you pair this with the full version of the software however, or use a better software like EZ Drummer or Superior Drummer, you get a totally realistic acoustic drumming experience with the USB Pro Kit.

There is just no way you can tell the sounds come from an electronic kit just by listening. And while the USB Pro is an entry level kit into the world of VPT (Virtual Percussion Technology) drums, it is a reliably solid kit you can start with. Many users of this kit have expressed that the USB Pro is an excellent choice for beginners as it provides a lot of value and fun for its price tag. It’s a sturdy piece of kit that looks good and feels great to play on too. Some users have expressed this kit as the “future of drumming”. We’ll let you be the judge of that…

“For an entry-level kit, it has quite a bit of upgrade potential… It does take a bit of tuning. The default settings on the TriggeriO result in lots of cross talk. Be sure to punch in the recommended settings from the back of the manual immediately, or your initial experience will be disappointing. This really should have been taken care of at the factory. The BFD Lite demo software included is also underwhelming. You will need to budget for either BFD Pro or EZdrummer to get drum sounds that show this kit off to best advantage.
